Have you seen the behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming Beatles biopics?

If you're a Beatles fan, you probably have a lot of opinions about these upcoming biopics, directed by Sam Mendes. We're told that it's going to be a "Cinematic Experience" but what does that mean? 4 full-length movies? Am I going to the theatre 4 separate times? Or is it all going to be folded into one ticket? Also, do the actors they cast look like the boys themselves? Does it matter? Are they going to woefully misrepresent the people and stories behind the music that we love? Is this just a cheap play to get Gen Z interested in the music of the Beatles? Does any of this matter? All I know is that I will be seated in the movie theater when these films come out, and I will be using my critical eye to assess them. This is what any good Beatles fan would do.

But a truly GREAT Beatles fan not only consumes the art itself, but contributes to the fandom. This is where the meme-makers come in. Meme-makers are a very important part of any fandom. We need them in order to sustain our interest in the group or artifact at hand. Thought The Beatles had been broken up decades before meme culture as we know it truly came into view, we still have some dedicated meme-makers in the fandom. And every time a news story or a piece of information is in the popular discourse, that means it's time to look at some memes.
